I have had a lovely week staying at Wightbayholidays chalet Gillian has thought of everything! Pegs pizza cutter, wieghing scales, washing machine everything you need! Oh and most importantly wifi !! And you can here lions Roar 🦁 dog friendly 100% recommend if your going to sandown:)
Highly recommend this chalet above Yaverland beach. Great owners who made sure we had all we needed and more for our short stay. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.
We have enjoyed another fantastic holiday in Ocean Decks this year, our 7th year in this beautiful chalet. The chalet has everything we need for our family – the kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are comfortable and we really love the coastal style interior. Because the chalet is south-facing, we can sit out on the enclosed patio and enjoy the sun throughout the day, and there’s grass in front for children to play on. Having a fence around the private patio with a gate, makes it perfect for young children and also our dog. The owners, Gillian and David, have been great providing us with lots of useful information, and they live near the site so are always on hand if needed. The site is perfect for our family. It is peaceful and relaxed, and after we walk through the gate onto the coastal path, it only takes a few minutes to reach Yaverland Beach, which is sandy and safe, and there’s a handy café too. We were also lucky enough to find some glow worms on our evening walk. We have already booked again for next year.
A lovely clean & well presented dog friendly chalet on the edge of Bembridge down leading to Culver down, miles of coastal paths, & a short walk to Yaverland dog friendly beach, ideal for a couple with two small children + dog.The chalet is fully equipped with cooker, fridge/ freezer, microwave, kettle etc. There is a double bedroom & a small bedroom with two bunk beds, plus a double sofa bed. The bath room is a good size with a walk in shower cubicle. All electric was included as was the WiFi + Netflix & a large wall mounted tv, although the reception not always perfect. There is a small patio area at front of the chalet with chairs & table to enjoy that bottle of wine on those balmy summer evenings.
I have lost count of the amount of times we have stayed here now, I love everything about tjis chalet. The location is amazing, short walk to the beach, Yaverland really is the best beach on the island, or if you are feeling adventurous just walk down the cliff, my 76 year old Mum managed it ! At night you can hear the sea and the lions roaring in the Zoo, its magical. The chalet itself is everything you could hope for, comfortable beds, lovely shower and all the kitchen essentials you need to cook a meal, if that’s your thing on holiday. Wi-fi and Netflix is also included and there is even a fan as the chalet is a real suntrap so you can sit out on the decking all day. The gated area is brilliant for the dogs too, they can be as nosey as they like all day. Parking is also plentiful and there’s a lovely safe green outside for the kids to run around and play on.The best thing for us though and keeps us coming back several times a year are the hosts, Gillian and Dave who go above and beyond for their guests and are so accommodating, nothing is too much for them. We have also hired out next door, Sandy Shores for various members of our family and they all keep coming back now too. I was hesitant to write a review for purely selfish reasons, I don’t want too many people to book our chalet as it really is our little bit of heaven on the island and keeps us coming back year after year.I guarantee you, you will not be disappointed and you will most probably end up becoming one of Gillian and Daves regulars like us. !!
What a wonderful week we had staying at Ocean Decks. This was our first holiday with our young children, and we could not have stayed in a better chalet than OD. Every little thing was thought of, such as every utensil you could need (even a cheese grater!), easy to use appliances, brilliant washing machine and clothes dryer to hang clothes on, Netflix to watch in the evenings, the lovely outdoor space fenced off so the little ones couldn’t escape! The beds were so comfortable, and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. We have booked already to go back again next year. I would highly recommend this lovely chalet, and we cannot wait to go back. Thanks very much
I booked Ocean Decks for my Partner and I as it is ideally situated right by the Isle of Wight Coastal Path and we’d organised a group walk for my Walking Group – West Sussex and Hampshire Walking Group on the Saturday, taking in 15 Miles of the beautiful Coastal Path between Ryde and Sandown including Culver Cliff. Right from the off, Gillian messaged to say Ocean Decks was ready for us should we like to check in earlier than 4pm – we were actually much later getting there not wanting to waste our 1st day, but nevertheless we were greeted by an easy to find comfortable light, airy & welcoming Chalet and we both felt at ease straight away. Slight apprehension over having a Coin Meter for the Electricity but this quickly dissappeared when we saw how little we were actually using! We had 3 long days out, wanting to make the most of our time on the Island but were very relieved to have Ocean Decks Chalet to retreat to at the end of each day. My only grumble was not being able to return on the last day, having a rather bumpy crossing back to Portsmouth to look forward to instead!!! This was our 1st stay at Ocean Decks and I’m sure it won’t be our last!! Gillian & Dave have done a brilliant job in creating a lovely attractive seaside Chalet that both my partner and I did not want to leave. We had 4 brilliant days on the Isle of Wight and can’t wait to return. Would we stay at Ocean Decks again? ABSOLUTELY we would – Yes 💯!!!!
Stopped here for work but enjoyed my stay so much will be bringing the family next time hopefully soon , right on the beach aswell
We are return visitors to Sandown Bay chalets at Yaverland. We are now pleased to be return visitors to Wightbay Holidays. You would be hard pressed to find a more comfortable stay. What we love… plenty of parking, chalets are all clean and bright, and the chalets are more than well equipped for a holiday; storage has clearly been thought about and provided. But my number one favourite is that the beds are so comfortable with great mattresses and premium bedding…Oh, I nearly forgot… no traffic noise, no noisy attractions just the crash of waves and sometimes a shout out from the lions at the zoo. Breath taking scenery and superb walking… all of this is before I get to part about how great Gillian and Dave are … communication with hosts is top notch … everything you need to know is sent in a timely manner and if there’s anything else … just ask. We are already looking forward to our next stay. 😀
This is our 3rd stay with Wightbay holidays. Chalet is always clean on arrival. Plenty of kitchen items. Beautiful sea themed bedroom and such a lovely peaceful area to stayGillian and David (the owners) are great. Just a call away if neededWish we could have stayed longer
Sandy Shores is a beautiful chalet. Me, my sister and my dog had a great time. It has a lovely homely feel and everything you could need for your stay.Communication from Gillian was great and she is very helpful with any queries. We loved going back to the chalet after a day out and it has everything we needed to cook dinner. Great time had by all 3 of us, Evie (dog) was shattered after all the excitement. Highly recommend, we will be back 🙂
Enjoyed our stay very much. Chalet had everything we needed and more.
Gillian makes it very welcoming with all the extra personal touches, like milk, tea, coffee and biscuits.
The chalet is so well equipped and very comfortable. This is my second visit staying in Sandy Shores previously and I would love to visit again in the future.
Our first stay in Seas the Day and it didn’t disappoint. Fitted out to the same standard as the other chalets owned by Gillian and Dave, we had a lovely comfortable stay. With everything you could need and owners close by if any issues were to arise.
Couldn’t recommend these chalets enough. We’ve stayed in these chalets for many years and will be back again!
We stayed in the lovely well equipped Sandy Shores. It is as it says very well furnished, clean and tidy.
Absolutely loved that it’s only minutes from the Dig friendly beach.
Also loved that I could hear the lions roaring from the zoo.
Absolutely lovely holiday would recommend it to all we hope to come back again soon
Sandy Shores is a lovely homely chalet, with all mod cons, including an air fryer. It has a real seaside feel with the beach and ocean decor, and lots of open spaces outside. Gillian and Dave leave some real homely touches, which help in settling in, The chalet is clean, bright and comfortable, with plenty of local info to help during your stay. Location is ideal for a beach holiday or for walking the Coastal path, with close proximity to Sandown and Yaverland beaches, and within reasonable walking distance of Bembridge. Check-in was simple and uncomplicated, we very soon settled in to beach chalet life.
We had the best time staying in Ocean Decks chalet, it had everything we needed, it was clean and comfortable, easy check in and out with the key box and lots of lovely walks for our dogs straight from the door, site was so peaceful and quiet, we really didn’t want to leave
We will definitely be returning
The chalet is well equipped cosy and beautifully decorated with amazing themed art work. The owners are very helpful and friendly and are just a message away if you need anything. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and everything you could need upon arrival is included meaning you don’t have to rush out to a shop. The beds are all nice and comfy and seating is ample for everyone. As we stayed in December the weather and temperatures didn’t permit sitting outside on the decking but in the summer I can see this would be an added luxury to be able to sit out on the decking catching the sun watching the world go by
